Steve's responsibilities center on client solicitation, public relations, advertising, billing and management as well as client accounting and taxes. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm. Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He is on the Board of Directors for many associations and clients as well as giving back to the community as the Treasurer of the Northbrook Baseball Association. Steve graduated from the University of Illinois with honors in 1992. While at the University of Illinois, he carried a double major-finance and accounting, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1993, Steve left his job at JMB Realty where he was doing financial reporting to work with his father, whom he calls a "powerhouse accountant." He knew that he wanted to use his finance and accounting experience to serve his own clients and he didn't want to work for anyone else. From the beginning, Steve had a vision of what a CPA firm should be like. He is committed to quality work, personal service and high standards. And, in addition to his accounting degree and CPA certificate, he has an insurance license and a real estate license. Through his network contacts, Steve is able to assist startups by recommending banks for small business loans or insurance agents for everything from liability coverage to workmen's compensation. He provides innovative and practical answers to everyday business problems. He and the firm also assist new businesses in a myriad of ways. He helps entrepreneurs keep track of their expenses, teaches them how to keep cash receipts journals, sets them up with the right kind of accounting system and software programs and implements employee health and benefit plans. His gratification comes from watching clients' businesses prosper and grow, knowing that he and the firm have done their job well.
